Checklists matter.
They might seem trivial, but they are actually very powerful.
Using checklists can completely transform your productivity, both in your personal and professional life.
They can help you achieve a lot more, and can also help you stay organized and stay on course.
They also make your life easier, because having a checklist lets you quickly see how much you have done, and how much is left, without needing to guess.
When you have a checklist, there's no guesswork involved because you have it all in black and white. You can see clearly your progress, as well as what else needs to be done.
Personally, I am a massive fan of checklists. Fan might actually be an understatement. I am such a fan of checklists because of this one main reason - they just simplify things. I also like using them because they are a very simple yet effective tool. There's no complicated process involved (it's idiot-proof), and it doesn't take a whole lot to create or use one either (just a piece of paper and pen is really all you need).
The simplicity of checklists is one of its best features, because that makes your life easier. What's more, it takes minutes (if not seconds) to create one, so it is very time-efficient too. And they can be used in pretty much every area of life, be it at home (eg. grocery or chore checklists), at work (eg. project checklist, to-do list for the day or week), and even in social settings (eg. party food checklist, invitation checklist).
From a productivity point of view, having a checklist cuts down your distractions since you don't have to spend time wondering about what needs to be done or what comes next.
Checklists can also help you minimise the damage that procrastination can do since that happens more when you don't have a plan for what needs to be done.
Once you create your checklist, things just get easier, and simpler, and more effective. It also becomes easier to finish what needs to be done.
Start using checklists (or use them more if you use them already), because they are great for you.
Make your life simpler,
Salek
